Phlebitis: Superficial phlebitis is usually caused by local trauma to a vein. Superficial phlebitis may or not have a blood clot form to cause the pain and inflammation. In the legs, superficial phlebitis can be associated with varicose veins.  Inactivity (blood pools in the veins and tends to clot if a person is inactive for a prolonged period of time);
trauma, and blood clotting abnormalities.

Hematoma in the muscle will resolve unless there is a bleeding tendency. The other two require medical attention.

Only way to: Know for sure is to get a test called venous duplex ultrasound.  Your doctor will need to order it.  If there is a clot in the femoral vein, you are at risk for pulmonary embolism, which can be fatal.  Time to see a doctor now.

clot in vein is more common in young people specially women,because of birth control pills,pregnancy,factor five deficiency, etc.......
there is a vein in your thigh, so if you are concern get venous Doppler.

Whooshing in leg: 39 M notes whooshing feeling in high thigh ANS: need more information. I have never had a patient complain of a whooshing feeling. If you were feeling blood flow in veins then the feeling would get louder during inspiration and go away during expiration.  If there all the time then could be due to blocked vein. below the whoosh.

Does not sound like : A blood clot, but get tested if you have risk factors for it. It sounds more like a nerve problem, possibly meralgia paresthetica, especially if overweight or obese. Have your doctor take a look.
