i suddenly got a deep reddish purple round stain under the skin of my right pinkie finger, near the last joint that bends by the nail. its opposite the nail. though i had no injury, i'm worried that its a blood clot.

Sprained finger?: Perhaps you twisted it without realizing it? If you don't have bruising or stains like that elsewhere, then watch it to see if it gets worse.  It's an odd place for a blood clot without trauma. If other purple stains or this one painful or worsening, don't ignore it.

Circle of blood: A small circle of blood (a clot) under a nail - from trauma - is unsightly but not dangerous. With no treatment it grows out in a month or so.  In an emergency room - completely painless - no anaesthesia needed - a doctor can burn a hole (with a hot paper clip in the nail and drain the blood completely. The hole grows out in a month.

Probably nothing: A blood clot under a nail is usually a small circle of dark blood which is painless, but unsightly. No treatment is needed as it will grow out and go away..
In an emergency room a doctor may "drain it". That involves heating a paper clip and burning a small hole in the nail - completely painless. The blood clot drains completely and the hole in the nail grows out in a month or so.   Peter wilk, md.

i am a diabetic since 4 yrs and since last month i have observed a blood clot on my 2nd finger of both toes, happens when i have my routine walk?

Need foot exam: You may be suffering from improper shoe wear which can be exquisitely dangerous in a diabetic. I am assuming by seeing a blood clot, you mean a scab or blood blister. You should certainly have a foot exam to make sure you are getting appropriate blood supply to those toes and make sure your shoes are not causing damage. Get checked out to avoid eventual amputation. Also keep close eye on sugars.

Blood: You probably ruptured a small blood vessel causing the bruise to appear. It is of no consequence and will disappear. Good Luck

May have a gyn probl: You need to be seen as this is not normal. Gyn exam will tell if yu have a problem.

Normal variation: Occasional clots are not abnormal. However, it does mean more than usual bleeding and you are at risk of iron deficiency and anemia. You may wish to take oral iron supplements available over the counter. Take the pills with meals.

Exam: You need a good exam with evaluation of nerve and muscle function to help determine this.

Ingrown?: It may be growing an ingrown nail.  You may need a corner or two removed.
