why does colonoscopy test show a blockage?

Why do colonoscopy?: When there is evidence of a colon blockage colonoscopy has the advantage of being able to see the cause of the blockage and do biopsies.  The location can be seen on a ct scan or barium enema but those studies do not show the exact cause.  Sometimes we can also open the channel temporarily to allow preparation for surgery more successfully.

since 2012 with colon issues. now, i'm dealing constantly with disabilitating pain. out from the hospital, they didn't help me. i have to deal alone with my partial intestinal blockage. question: can i ask the gastroenterologist, for a colonoscopy?

Gut flora needs: to be balanced.  Consider seeing a nutritionist and taking a Probiotic. (Dr. Ohira brand is a good one.)  Stick w/your doc so any medical conditions can be identified or ruled out.  Possible food sensitivity.  Great Plains Laboratory in KS has a good lab test for that.  Peace and good health.

plz help. i feel stool blockage and gas after meal. stool even soft but hard to evacuate. surprisingly at every morning time stool came out. no blood seen. one group of doctors on ibs. other goes for colonoscopy. what is your advise?

Hard to guess: Each person with constipation needs to be sure there is no other disease causing it. If constipation is just due to slow movement of the food and poop through the gut, then the things to try are vegetables, water, prune juice, prunes, fiber-with-water, polyethylene glycol, Senokot or other senna, milk of magnesia, other laxatives... A doctor who knows ALL of the patient's details can help decide.

Complicated case: With those numbers of operations you are a complicated case - but sounds like a hernia, if it is chronic over the past while. Have a surgeon check you.

i did a ct scan came back negative for diverticulitis but showed a narrowing of the colon. 3cm. other organs are ok. does it mean i have colon cancer? i have no blood in stool but i had two episode of complete blockage with vomiting. colonoscopy next

Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Not much: You will be under the influence of versed or some other medication such that you won't feel and/or remember a thing.

What kind?: Depends on the type of polyp found, their size, family history and pathology result if biopsied.  If benign, flat, small, nothing.  May need earlier repeat colonoscopy, usually in 3 to 5 years as opposed to 10.

what happens during a virtual colonoscopy?

Virtual: You are in a cat scanner, with air and sometimes contrast pumped into you. Unpleasant and not as accurate as a regular colonoscopy. Also, if something is found, youmwill need a colonoscopy anyway.
