Toenail bleeding: Not usually normal.  Good idea to report this to the surgeon, to be sure all is ok.

Most likely.: The area under the toenail (the toenail bed) has a very rich blood supply and therefore it is very common for bleeding to persist after toenail removal surgery. I tell my patients to wrap the toe with gauze and a compressive bandage (coban) and then elevate the foot above the level of the heart for about an hour. You may need to apply additional gauze, but the bleeding should stop.

i have bleeding under my big toenail after completing a run. do i need to have this treated?

Subungual hematoma :  Was there pressure on the big toe against your running shoes? Was this a distance run?  If you are in a lot of pain this can be treated. Otherwise the blood will usually slowly resolve as the nail grows out. If your shoes are creating pressure against big toe considering consult with a Pedorthist (who specializes in fittning shoes).

Possibly ingrown: Sometimes when a nail becomes ingrown granulation tissue forms which bleeds easily. Do you notic any reddish lumps along the margins of the nail?

my pinki toenail is split vertically with one half completly attached and the other half only attached at the cuticle it isnt bleeding at all?

Damaged nail: My suggestion is to carefully cut down the detached portion of nail by clipping it. You may want to protect it with covering by bandaid.

i am bleeding beneath my toenails and fingernails, is this a sign of  endocarditis?

Maybe: Sometimes endocarditis, an infection of a heart valve, causes what we call splinter hemorrages underneath the nails. They look like bruise colored splinters not necessarily a broad bruise like you'd see if you stubbed your toenail.

See a podiatrist: Perhaps you injured the toe more severely than you can tell at this point. Proud flesh can result, and it can bleed or drain over time. Plus, a podiatrist can evaluate it and make sure it is not a more serious problem.

i'm 54 years old. and a female. my two middle toes have been numb for a couple months.today however those same toenails fell off. no bleeding/pain?

Numb: This  sounds like 2 different problems .  Your first best solution is to see your podiatrist for an exam .  Possibilities include neuroma, and old trauma or fungal infection to the nails.

See below: You may have had micro trauma such as the nail hitting the top of the shoe when walking or exercising.  You could also have a growth under the nail.
You should have it checked by podiatrist
