Fever: Within one week. After the first 2-3 days of the procedure, the risk is miniscule, if any.

i had a colonoscopy with a 8mm polyp removal from my sigmoid colon through a lift and hot snare removal. this was 3 days ago. i am due to fly today (2hr flight). i've had some pink/red mucus with my bowel movements since but nothing excessive. safe?

: It is expected to have a small amount of bleeding after a polyp removal but this should not worsen with flying. As long as the bleeding remains minimal and it is improving, the 2 hour flight will be fine. If the bleeding worsens at any time, let your GI doctor know. Good luck to you!

Yes it is.: Your doctor should have informed you that mild vaginal bleeding is normal after such procedures. In the absence of fever and large blood clots per vaginam, you should be fine and able to wati until your pathology review appointment in 2 weeks.

: Light bleeding can last several days after this procedure. On the other hand, heavy bleeding where you're changing pads every hr is abnormal. In which case, please contact your OB/GYN ASAP.

No: I can understand the question but stool consistency is not a factor for post-polypectomy bleeding.

Bleeding: The removal of the polyp will improve your bleeding pattern. If you do indeed have a fibroid that is removal at the time of the procedure this will improve your pain.

Uterine polyps: Polyps can be removed with or without cautery to seal the small blood vessels within the stalk.  Bleeding can be slight or sometimes more like a period,  but should stop within three to four days. If not , see your provider who did the surgery. The amount of bleeding is generally not significant.

Hard to tell: It's possible either way.  It might be normal to have some bleeding/spotting after removal of polyp and biopsy of uterus.  Likewise, it could be your period. If it's time for your period, then that's what it likely is. Wait another month and see if next month's cycle is normal. Hopefully doctor called you by now to tell you everything's normal!
