No: Hsg usually does not cause bleeding. Occasionally women might experience vaginal sporting 1-2 days.  Bleeding 5 days after hsg require an evaluation.

Possibly: Annabel:  the hsg can cause a little bleeding on its own so you may see a little more bleeding than you are used to if you were still on your cycle when the test was done.

HSG: Heavy bleeding should not be a consequence of this x-ray. The cervix is grasped with a clamp and this could cause bleeding, usually not for 3days. Call your doctor.

what could be the reason for continuous heavy menustrual bleeding for 20 days? ttc, all tests(vag. scan, hsg ) are clear and everything is normal.

Hormones?: Extremes of weight (thin/heavy) can cause this, as can thyroid.  You mentioned ultrasound and hsg are normal. Endometriosis and adenomyosis are also causes. If ttc, however, you can't really treat the bleeding b/c doing so would prevent possibility of pregnancy.  If you've been ttc for awhile, consider seeing an infertility specialist to help you. Menstrual period: Slight spotting after a hysterosalpingogram is not unusual. If that is followed by 5 days of bleeding, the question is, whether this is the woman's menstrual period. Keep in mind that with irregular bleeding a pregnancy always needs to be ruled out.

Yes: Spotting after hsg can occur for ip to a week or more and is usually normal. Unless you develop foul smelling vaginal discharge or fever higher than 100.5 degree f it is usually not a concern.

i did hsg last week tuesday, had sex with my husband on sunday and i saw a blood like discharge on his penis. it is not like i'm bleeding we only see it during sex. what does this mean?

: What do you mean HSG?(or is it HCG). If the bleeding is not from you could it be from your husband? If you think you could be pregnant and you are afraid of miscarriage then be gentle on the sex until it is safe for the pregnancy. If the bleeding is from your husband could he be checked or is he using too much force during sex that he should address.

is it normal to have continuous bleeding 9 weeks after d&c ? ultrasound showed no retained tissue ( only fibroid). hsg levels below 5 since 3 weeks ago.  the bleeding has been continuous and ranges from heavy/chunky to light.

A little unusual: It may be due to the fibroid, or just very slow healing, but bleeding for this long after a D&amp;C is unusual. So I would probably check for infection with a cervical culture, to rule out a mild case of endometritis. If you don't have an infection, your doctor may consider a short course of hormones to control the bleeding.

Dysmenorrhea ?'s: Pain and bleeding at irregular intervals should be evaluated by your gyn physician. If what is described is part of your regular menstrual events, this may also be caused by invasion of the uterine muscle by endometrial tissue, called adenomyosis.  If the bleeding is occurring randomly, it has other potential causes, such as ectopic pregnancy.
