Needs evaluation: 21 year old woman asking if bladder and urethral pain after a c-section is normal. The bladder is retracted during a cesarian section and the urethra is commonly instrumented as a foley catheter is passed. Thus pain may occur but can never be dismissed. Pain with urination indicates urethritis and suprapubic pain may be cystitis. DVT, PE, wound infection and UTIs after surg must be evaluated

i had my gall bladder removed a year ago, will i be ok when i have my c-section in a couple months?

Yes: Will not be a problem , after open or lap cholecystectomy   and god luck.

after my second daughter was born by a c-section they cut my bladder im now left incontient can i have a new bladder ?

Need evaluation: It may not be an incontinence you may have a urinary fistula urine draining into vagina, you have  to see gyno-urrologist for evaluation, tests  and correction ( surgery ) of the problem

i have herpes and bladder problems can i just schedule a c section?

Yes : Yes u can do an elective csection for no reason,  long as you have been told about  pros and cons and risks and advantages and disadvantages, I do it for my pts all the time, if u still want to try for a vag del, your OB can put u on Valtrex (valacyclovir) starting at 36 weeks so u do not get an outbreak at term and have a SVD  and bladder probelms can be treated with antibiotics  csection wont prevent blad prob.

is having a bladder infection dangerous if you had a c-section 3 weeks ago?

Likely not: There is likely no increased risk with the cystitis 3 weeks after the section.

asking wife. 30 f during c - section they nicked her bladder and now she has a hole. she has a cathider in hoping will heal. doc says can take 6 weeks its been 4. if doesnt work then surgery.will she live? he said maybe complications? shes scared?

: If it does not heal itself in 6 weeks, the bladder can be repaired easily by urologist, do not worry too much. At least, she passed the dangerous period, vesical injury can cause serious pelvic infection because urine is not always sterile in women. With the indwelling catheter and she does not have infection, chance of full recovery without surgery is high. Good luck to her.

Please call your OB: U may have a bladder infection or something else going on, your symptoms are not normal, please call your OB tonight as your OB knows u and knows how the csection went.

is occasional vertigo a normal post-op symptom? i had a planned c-section which was immediately followed by an emergency operation on my bladder to remove a stitch. i am now 3 weeks post-op.

Vertigo: Vertigo is not a typical symptom one gets after surgery or atypical symptom after delivery. If you are taking Narcotic pain medication it could be a side effect of that. Consider seeing an ENT or your primary care doctor for an evaluation of vertigo.

i think i have a bladder prolapse and im 24 weeks pregnant. what do i have to worry about throughout the rest of my pregnancy and will delivery need to be c section?

Accepted Answer

: It is unlikely that a bladder prolapse would be severe or cause problems for the rest of the pregnancy, other than discomfort and possible loss of bladder control. You also may just have normal pregnancy changes so have your provider take a look. Your risk of a C-section is not increased.

Some risk: Interstitial cystitis symptoms are caused by the lack of a protective layer in the bladder.This lets irritants get to nerve endings.Delivery should not change this.There is always some risk of bladder damage with a c-section but interstitial cystitis doesn't change this nor does this change interstitial cystitis.The main risk to the bladder with vaginal delivery is to support.This also is the same
