had deep ache in up back in one spot for over 2 yrs, i have had right breast ultrasound it was ok, mam ok. spine mri ok. shoud i get mri of breast?

Not necessary: It is unlikely the pain in your back is related to your breasts as long as other tests were normal.  Hope the MRI of the spine was your neck. If not you might consider that.  But you should talk to your doctors ad always to help find the cause

my wife had a breast ultrasound done a couple of days ago. they found 2 small dark spots on left breast. could it be a cyst or mass??

Real report needed: Radiologist will not describe as  ' dark spots '  will describe as cyst or not ( mass ) . Speak to her  doctor with permission  for official verson of report  and next step in follow up care

Blackhead: It sounds like you had a clogged pore or blackhead.  When you scratched it, the bacteria normally on your skin were able to make their way underneath and cause a mild infection.  This was the white pus that  you noted. If it does not resolve completely,  you should see your doctor. A picture is always helpful when trying to diagnose a skin problem.

Examination: You need to be examined to determine next course of action. Black spot may represent many things, skin tag, scab, mole, etc.  For ex, a Nevi/mole may warrant biopsy by a dermatologist.

Small pimple chest: Just like on our face we can get pimples on the skin of the chest and back. Seems you have folliculitis, a pimple, would wash with soap and water keep clean try, bacitracin  and follow up wiht doctor/urgent care

Concern: is warranted. There are a surprising number of breast structures that can get infections. They grow. If treated while the area is small, you don't even need slight poking of the area and antibiotics treat it. If a bit larger can require opening the area with a needle (popping a pimple), larger still can require minor surgery and leave a scar. Really bad can require hospitalization.

: These are not common acronyms for breast ultrasound. Suggest asking the physician who ordered the ultrasound what is meant by those acronyms.  At "47" , testing for breast disease is more accurately done with a digital mammogram or MRI.

It means: an ultrasound of both breasts.

help please! when should i get my first breast ultrasound?

Accepted Answer

When necessary: We don't routinely do breast ultrasounds, like we might do with screening mri.  Ultrasound is really only helpful if you feel something in the breast, or mammogram shows a new abnormality.   Otherwise, they are just not routinely done.
