No: Coffee is neutral to weight. Sugar has only 4 calories/gram. What you eat the rest of the day is much more important.

Not really: Green tea has a diuretic effect so you lose water weight. The Linus Pauling Institute reported a study that suggests green tea extracts acts as a plant-based alternative for glycemic control.  Catechins in the tea may ^ thermogenesis. 3 to 4 cups/day can have health benefits &amp; may act as a diuretic. Weight loss benefits of green tea are very mild. Black tea doesn't have same benefits as green.

Check diet first: Are you taking food rich in iron? Are you taking Pepto- Bismol.  They will both turn stool dark. If you are really bleeding internally you would probably be showing other symptoms.

Could be iron?: Black stool could be caused by taking iron supplements or pepto bismol (bismuth subsalicylate). If you have not taken either of these recently, then you should be evaluated by a doctor.

: In all likelihood, this is from something in your diet that is causing the different colors. You could change what you are eating to see if the colors change. If it continues, you can see your doctor and have the stool checked for another etiology. Best of luck to you!

Need medical checkup: You have some serious symptoms like blood in your stools which require urgent check up by your doctor. if you do not have a PCP, go to the Emergency Room(ER) for a check up and  have blood tests to find out more about the cause of your bleeding and check your blood counts(Hb).

Distress.: The child sounds in distress and needs to be taken to ER immediately.  There are many possibilities such as juvenile diabetes, cardiac or lung problems, infection, thyroid issues, adrenal crisis etc. but the child needs IV fluid and immediate work-up and most likely hospitalization.  Don't delay.

Have it checked.: It will be worth your trouble to see your doctor and have it checked out. It has been there long enough and with the wt loss and back pain and trouble urinating you want to make certain you are OK

: Can only guess. Maybe insufficient PPI (Protonix, Prevacid, Aciphex, etc, etc), maybe Barrett’s esophagus (pre-malignant), maybe esophageal ulcer, maybe. maybe, maybe. Need to see gastroenterologist and (probably) have repeat EGD.
