Remifemin is actually one of the best studied commercially available black cohosh remedies. But in research tests black cohosh (actaea racemosa) has been found to be safe in doses between 40-80 mg/day, for 6 months.  The tablets should be standardized to contain 1 mg of 27-deoxyactein.
