N+you don't have it: Biotin isn't useful for anything except increasing "health food" store revenue.  In addition, in my 35 years of practice, I have never seen a case of reactive hypoglycemia.  The disorder doesn't exist, if you're overweight the symptom are a natural response to you sugar returning to normal. A glucose tolerance test (if you've had one) is not and never will be a valid diagnostic test for hypoglycem.

Biotin: Biotin is vitamin b7, and is water-soluble.  It most often comes in "mcg" doses -- there are 1000 mcg in 1 mg.  Deficiencies are rare, as daily needs are small (around 50 mcg/day in adults) and it's abundant in food.  Long-term antiseizure meds or antibiotics, intestinal malabsorption, & eating raw egg whites can lead to biotin deficiency.  If you have one of these issues, 1mg is okay.

Not recommended: Good studies have not been done on the long term effects of that dose of biotin on either adults or children.  Normal recommended intake for an adolescent is 30-100 mcg.  Additional amounts may be necessary in rare situations.

Yikes: That is a lot of biotin. It is 200 times the recommended daily intake. I don't believe there have been any scientific studies showing the safety of taking that much, although, there is nothing to say it is clearly dangerous either.

Hmmm....: Biotin deficiency is rare, but can occur in persons with genetic mutations, on long-term antibiotics or anti-convulsants, or who eat a lot of raw egg whites. There is no good evidence that this easily available, over-the-counter supplement is the magic potion to grow hair or prevent hair loss. Biotin is safe to take, but 10000 mcg per day is over 60 times the usual dose, so is not advisable.

Normally none: Biotin is in the foods of a balanced diet. That means a normal person gets the biotin she needs from eating a balanced diet, and does not benefit from spending money on biotin pills.

No, unless . . .: We get all the biotin we need in the normal diet. Any touted benefits of additional biotin are not well-proven.  If a person was so profoundly malnourished as to be low in biotin, then feritlity is decreased, but just fixing the biotin deficiency, in that case, would not alone restore fertility. Biotin supplements can cause some SERIOUS constipation in some folks (like moi!)

Why?: Why take any?The normal diet covers the body's need for biotin.Why add something unnecessary?

Much over the: 100% US RDA has never been shown to do anything. Keratin is a not very good protein similar to gelatin and mucilage.
A regular (Hallal) diet low in alcohol and sweets (diabetes is SKY HIGH IN EGYPT) with a one a day vitamin is hard to improve upon.

: Biotin is a safe and water soluble vitamin that can be taken daily. It acts as what is called a Co-enzyme and assists the body in some important chemical reactions that improve daily health.
