Yes: "diverticulosis" is a condition where the colon has small outpouchings (diverticuli) of the colon lining that can get plugged up and infected causing symptoms."diverticulitits" is an inflamation of these divertiuli of the colon.  There are   antibiotics can cure the infection but not the diverticuli.    Surgery to remove the section of colon that has the "diverticuli" will often cure the disease.

But diverticulosis can affect the entire colon. Surgery is not performed unless there are complications such as repeated infections of diverticulitis, colon stricturing or narrowing, serious bleeding.

Diet for: Treatment of diverticulosis is controversial.  High fiber, low fiber, etc.  I don't think eggplants are at either extreme, so i think you are ok otherwise.  Ask a dietician to make sure.

: Diverticulum is a small pocket of the wall of a hollow structure eg the intestines and common . Mostly occurring in the colon. some  can get blocked/ infected causing diverticulitis. It can not be predicted in whom that will happen. So hope for the best and dont worry

We don't have the: power to change your mind.  We don't know what your medical history is or what your tests showed.  I feel no need to try to prove anything to you. However, if your surgeon  diagnosed you with diverticulosis &amp; has photos from your colonoscopy you could ask to be shown these with explanation of what is being seen.

: No, generally people do not know how many diverticula they have. If you eat a lot of fiber and hydrate well, you would like we never have a problem from the diverticulosis.
