Swelling: Venous insufficiency is a result of congenital issues(rarely) or commonly de vein thrombosis and scarring of the intrinsic venous valves allowing venous reflux which is detected on the ultrasound exam. 
Good that no acute clots are present!
see your vascular surgeon fir review and likely rx with stockings.And recommendations to reduce swelling.

: Typically, the dominant side is stented, but studies have shown bilateral improvements even if the non-dominant side is stented, probably related to decreased subarachnoid pressure. 90% of stenosis are bilateral, and it is more common in females. The incidence is about 1 in 100,000m(Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension, or IIH).

Depends: You can walk and it would bs helpful if your varicoaw.veina bother you. A dopple.is the first Step in dwcidong treatment however if they are not bothersome then.support stockings may be all you.need for.now  No reason.for.doppler.unless you are.considering  treatment of ths veins

One of the concerns : Is a clot, a bakers cyst is another that comes to mind. A clot is serious if present and needs to be dealt with immediately. The question is did you already have he ultrasound or not? If you didnt go get it done...And do not wait a week. If you did and it was negative, i would call the doctors office anyway explain your ina lot of pain and ask to be seen earlier. 
Perhaps ice would help....

Many minimally invasive surgeons (like myself) perform both sided laminotomy through a 1 sided exposure and hence dissect through less muscle.  Both procedures involve removing a small piece of bone and ligament.
