hi i have just had an operation to remove an abscess  from a cyst on my scalp how long should this take to heal and should i return to work the op took place saturday.  any advice would be appreciated thankyou?

Need to get tests: few things u need looked into:  1) HIV and Hepatitis screening.     2) immune deficiency testing that would be genetic.   3) autoimmune testing.   4) liver and kidney testing.    5) and also to consider hygiene if needs to be considered. U should start with ur family doctor or even a Infectious Disease Doctor

i'm taking amoxicillin/metronidazole for dental abscess. i'd been having stabbing, nerve type pain around my eye, cheek and scalp for a couple days, i now have raised, red, itchy patches with tiny blisters there . cld it be drug reaction or shingles?

: Per description shingles, a drug reaction cannot be ruled out. Getting examined by your PCP or local urgent care would be best in addressing properly.

i develop abscesses in my underarms very often, which grow real big and painful. it feels like these and my acne are linked to my stomach's health. tq?

Depends: The question is if you have "only" furuculosis (which reflect a deeper form of hair follicule infections, also known as folliculitis) or another condition called hidradenitis suppuritiva. The latter condition is due to blockage and involvement of sweat glands in that area and can lead to sinus tracks, drainage, and concomitant scarring. You need to be clinically evaluated by a dermatologist.

perianal abscess dangerous? biopsy on july 1 showed abscess in colon& rectum. was concerned about it.gi said not a big concern. now it's visible right outside of the rectum, painful &very tender. should i schedule surgery to drain both abscesses?

Back to dentist: Sounds like you are on antibiotics so you really need to call the dentist and return right away

2 choices: 1)  may not be painful, but infection still there.  One choice is to see dentist to eliminate the infection while you are still comfortable.
2)  other choice is to wait until infection flares up again dmd you have a painful, invasive, acute infection to have to deal with

entirely your choice.
