First things first: You may have a sub mucous cleft palate and poor ability to close the back of your nose that may be causing your speech issues. Depending on the severity speech therapy can be very effective for this. You need to have a thorough exam including nasopharyngoscopy to determine the cause and from that the best form of treatment.

Genetics & developme: Due to a factor of genetic contributions many feel that a cleft lip and palate may be associated with persistently high riding tongue in the oral cavity as well as failure of mesodermal penetration.

Hard to say: These are normal findings for a 6-9 yo,usually associated with snoring during sleep and require no treatment. If a 4 yo or a 18 yo with any signs of sleep disturbance, they may need removal. Providing more information when you submit a question allows a more specific answer.

i had surgery to fix my deviated septum, prior to surgery i did not snore, post op i am snoring badly, i do not have the symptoms of sleep apnea, unfortunately my ent just wants to cut the uvula. can this be a complication as a result of surgery?

Sleep apnea: Snoring and sleep apnea usually improve after a nasal septoplasty. I had one many years ago. Snoring can be associated with swelling of the nasal membrane even after the surgery. This may be partly due to increased air flow. I would try an OTC steroid nasal spray and give it several weeks to see if it helps.

what are some tips to breathe thru nose for a mouth breather? what are some  complications if breathe thru mouth?

Try netti pot: Saline irrigations with a netti pot or sinurinse bottle may help.  An exam by an ENT would help tell what might be blocking your nose.  Swollen tissue due to allergy or other irritants, nasal polyps , chronic infection or large adenoids could all play a part.  Steroid nasal sprays are frequently prescribed for a month, as they are probably the most helpful, safe medication for nasal congestion.

Bad Taste: Well, nasty taste is not a sign of pregnancy, it is a sign of acid reflux most likely which the risk is increased during pregnancy. Avoid acidic food, spicy food, caffeinated drinks, alcohol (i'm sure you don't drink during pregnancy), fatty food and you might feel better, talk to your OB doctor
