For muscle building try the following:
start with a comfortable but challenging weight and  do 10 reps in an eccentric fashion. What that means for biceps is to let the weight down slowly as your elbow extends.
Increase weight by 5lbs, and do 8reps eccentrically.
Increase the weight by another 5lbs and do one more set of curls - 6 reps this time. Your biceps should feel the burn. You are on your way to building bigger and stronger biceps!
