i am experiencing  hip pain, hip stiffness and leg tingling. burning pain in hip & buttock area, could it be, sciatica? best treatment, family doctor did xray showed arthritis and gave pain med only. still hurts, what should i do?

SI joint pain : Sounds like SI joint pain. If you are pregnant would tell your gyn that you recently had an Xray. If pregnant, try PT, but no manual therapies . And tell PT about your pregnancy. I can wear Salesian belt. If not pregnant go to PT and try manual therapies as well as other manipulation and modalities as needed

how would you think using hydracodone  with heart meds?  i don't tolerate this pain med well but need to rid of arthritis pain

is it ok to take meloxicam for arthritis with lisinopril  hctz for hypertension?.my bp is 121/56 on it. meloxicam is the only pain med that works.

Apples & oranges: While both medications have indications from the fda for the treatment of fibromyalgia, they are very different. Cymbalta is an serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor also indicated for the treatment of major depression as well as generalized anxiety disorder. Lyrica (pregabalin) works through GABA and is also indicated for seizure disorder. Your physician should be able to help you decide.

Many options: There are multiple options. Hormonal treatments such as birth control pills, Progesterone treatments and the Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud are effective reversible treatments that will help many people. There is also a drug called Lysteda that contains no hormones which will help others. There are many options for painful periods.

i have ms and trigem neuralgia and have terrible pain. tried gaba, baclofen, norco, (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) elavil, tegretol, otc, etc...what is the best pain med for this?

Trigem neuralgia: There is no best pain med. Short term certainly stronger opioids may be tried but this is not a long term solution. You need to see someone about getting some nerve blocks etc.. Ultimately if nothing works then you have to consider a microvascular decompression of the nerve.

Many but ? diagnosis: This depends on your  diagnosis. Sulfa base  azulfidine (sulfasalazine) is used  in RA, but there are  many other  medications available. Your  physician can have you see a rheumatologist to help decide  the  best  medication

the only otc med that helps pain in my knee is ibuprofen.. but it is too rough on my stomach. what are my options? i'm in so much pain. (arthritis?)

See details: Hold the Ibuprofen for 1 week, start Prilosec 1 tab daily immediately. After a week try to restart the Ibuprofen and stop it immediately if GI issues return.
