Cold followed by hea: In the acute phase, right after the bruise, you should put cold compress on the area, intermittently for about four hours to lessen the bleeding and swelling.  After the first day you should put hot/warm compresses to increase blood flow and resolve the injury.  Do not take Aspirin or related medications in the acute phase.

Time: Generally any drug, herb, treatment, or procedure that stands up to rigorous scientific scrutiny is included in modern medicine.  The problem is that many alternative practices, herbs etc do not stand up to scientific scrutiny and cannot be shown to work. That's why they are sold in "alternative" stores.    Be careful and watch your wallet.

is there any way i can prevent bruising from juvederm injections? bruises seem to take forever to heal on me, so i'd like to try to avoid them when i get my juvederm treatment. do you have any advice for how to do that?

You : You can avoid blood thinner medications and supplements from 10 days before your procedure to help with avoiding bruising. Some patients also find that taking arnica helps with bruising as well.

Coccyx: Once the coccyx is injured or inflamed it remains tender for days, weeks or months. Avoid sitting on hard surfaces, use padding. Hopefully your coccygeal symptoms won't be long lasting. See an orthopedic specialist as needed.

Patience: A bruise that does not otherwise interfere with function of a limb or organ can be left alone to self heal. It will go through color change over time &amp; the body should process any broken blood vessels for self repair over a 2-4 wk period. If there is loss of function a virtual consult with your doc would be the next level to consider.

Muscle bruise Rx: Heat and gentle stretching exercises. When you are pain free, you can start strengthening and slowly return to you normal sports activities. Also otc ibuprophen or Naproxen - assuing you can safely take nsaids.

Cracked rib: Time will heal it, for pain, analgesics, ice or heat will help.

Not really.: The bruising will go away with time; there is no credible evidence that anything currently available will speed that process. I must add, however, that using a v-beam laser to treat a spider angioma is the equivalent of using a howitzer to swat a fly; a momentary touch with an electrocautery needle would have accomplished the same thing with little or no bruising.

Bruise: pain relief ad give it time. USUALLY WILL GO AWY IN ABOUT 2-3 weeks, depending on size . Symptomatic relief with cold compresses in fresh injury.

Accepted Answer

See derm: there are many things this could be but instead of worrying yourself with multiple diagnosis, make an appointment to see your dermatologist who might perform a biopsy to be sure.
