Hard to say: Without knowing more about yourself.  The best thing for your back, is to first make sure your weight is optimized.  If you are overweight that places undue stress on your back.  Then, exercise wise, consider exercises that strengthen your core, as a healthy back requires balanced muscular responses from your back and abdominal muscles.

Its possible: I would suggest seeing a pain/spine specialist to evaluate you further to evaluate what level and what can be done to treat you.  There are interventional treatments besides medications and surgeries that might reduce or  eliminate the pain altogether.

Core strength: I am a big proponent of core strengthening exercises with roots in pilates.  Most back and neck issues are non surgical and can be managed with weight control, healthy eating and living, and cardio and core exercises.  Many physical therapists teach basic pilates moves.

Mindful Yoga?: I don't know the specific back problem you have, or what type of back exercises you're considering.  The vipassana retreat i just attended included some gentle, mindful yoga -- and people were of course free to amend postures according to any physical limitations they had (like back pain, etc).  Please ask your doctor about any specific limitations s/he feels you need to observe with exercise.

hi, my back is making a weird sound when i move my upper body to the right and left (the sound sounds like a sawing sound) is there anything i can do about that? like some back exercises?

Probably: 1.You need to understand where the lesion is which is,producing these sounds. That will require a hands on exam with a PMR or Ortho doc. Muscle strength, joint function, posture in the affected area will be necessary to assess.  2. Then a treatment program can be offered to resolve this issue. Good luck

Back nerve problem: It sounds like you have injured athe sciatic nerve in your lower back-- see your doctor for better diagnosis.

Shoulder injury: Could be a rotator cuff injury.  I would start by seeing your PCP

Depends: There's many different type of injections and different type injection could use different mixture of medication. I believe your doctor will determine the type injection is appropriate for you or not. You can ask this same question to the doctor who performed those injection on you.

doctor recommended back exercises after spinal fusion surgery and rod removal?

Activity after fused: Given that rods were removed, i must assume that the fusion is solid. Therefore, there are really no restrictions for you in a solidly fused lumbar spine. Core exercises like pilates/piyo/yoga are great (your flexibility will be limited, obviously). Aerobic exercises as tolerated and continue to progress as tolerated.
