It is not depression: Fibromyalgia is not depression, so this is why antidepressants alone do not treat fibromyalgia.  They can provide some relief but rarely alone can they provide enough relief. Usually a combination of therapies lead to the most successful treatment of fibromyalgia.

Probably continue: Lyrica (pregabalin) is typically not an antidepressant but helps in neuropathic and fibromyalgia pains. If it is helping you may have to continue-or may be taper the dosage if you are on a higher dose.

No: Dodo, you never have to do anything you do not want to do.  They key question is whether you are benefitting from these medications and are the benefits greater than the risk.  You are on good medications for fibromyalgia.  You may need an increase in the effexor (venlafaxine).  I'd also make sure you stay physically active and have good massages.

Usually not: Most birth control pills don't have any effect on fibromyalgia; however, so little is actually known about the nature and progression of this disease and how it manifests in individuals, there is always the possibility of an adverse reaction.  It is unlikely .  Taking the anti depressant medicines won't be affected by the pill.

No: ORADOLORAL (ketorolac tromethamine), a  (NSAID), is indicated for the short-term (up to 5 days in adults), for  mod -severe acute pain that requires analgesia at the opioid level and only as continuation treatment following IV or IM dosing of ketorolac tromethamine, if necessary. The total combined duration of use of TORADOLORAL and ketorolac tromethamine SHOULD NOT EXCEED 5DAYS

Mild anxiety: Antidepressants especially ssri are preferential treatment but if they can not be tolerated, short acting benzodiazepams could be used. Mindful of dependency and adverse effects especially when combined with alcohol and opiods that could be fatal. Counselling, excercise, yoga and meditation other forms interventions that do not require medications could be effective.

Complicated question: There are not many antidepressants fda approved for children.  The doctor must take each case individually. There is no one corrects swear otr list that should be given. The ages are so broad and tolerances and side egffectes at different ages and problrems I do not thimfk this question should be answered in this format.

With your Docs help!: Ideally this should be done in conjunction with the prescribing physician. Stopping an antidepressant on your own is not a good idea. Most antidepressants will clear from your system within five days. Certain antidepressants such as fluoxetine (prozac) can actually take a full month to clear however.
