Accepted Answer

No : After looking on epocrates, no interactions are noted between Tums and celexa (citalopram).  For complete safety, always check with the pharmacist when a new medicine is added, even if it is over the counter.

i take xanax (alprazolam) xr 1mg and celexa 10mg. just started celexa yesterday. can i take tums with this combination. what about 20mg of omeprazole?

Caution!: Omeprazole raises the blood levels of Celexa which can lead to serious side effects. In general the highest dose of Celexa while on Omeprazole is 20mg per day.  You really need to ask your doctor or prescriber to guide you as I do not know enough about your general health. 
As far as alternating xanax (alprazolam) and Celexa my opinion is that this is not a good idea.  Celexa is taken every day.

Citalopram & Tums (calcium carbonate): They don't have any known significant interaction between the two.

Yes: I have plenty of migraine and epilepsy patients that are taking topiramate with citalopram.  These do not have significant interactions.

Depends on…: Frequency & severity of symptoms: mild, occasional heartburn can be relieved by otc antacids (tums/rolaids/mylanta/gaviscon). More frequent/severe may require otc h2 acid blocker (zantac/axid/tagamet/pepcid). Severe/frequent symptoms: try otc/rx ppi (prilosec/prevacid/protonix). Dietary changes help, too: no caffeine/soda, fried/fatty foods, spicy foods, onions, acidic foods (tomatoes, lemon, lime.

There are many: You can choose a similar ppi like prilosec(omeprazole) and that should work well. If you want something less costly, try using zantac (ranitidine) or Pepcid but you may have to take it twice daily as the effect only lasts about 12 hours.

Talk Therapy!: While you search for a better antidepressant, definitely get involved in supportive talk therapy. The losses you've faced and your grief will not be resolved by drugs alone - they may not even be necessary. You need to work through your feelings which may be fairly normal and healthy. But, un-dealt with, they can fester leading to worse symptoms. Be picky, this therapist is one you need to trust.

Celexa (citalopram): 10mg. is low dose. My regimen for my patients is to switch to 5mg. twice daily for one week, then taper by 2.5mg. every 3-4 days. Consult your prescribing doctor first.

TUMS (calcium carbonate): Others have serious side effects, like osteoporosis!

Explanation. : Prolonged acid reflex can be treated with different medications depending on severity and clinical presentation, and sometimes requires endoscopy. My advice to make appointment with doctor and take proper treatment. Treatment may be prolonged as well: for months.
