Unless they grow very large, there will be little symptoms other than recognizing their presence.  If very large there may be pain as periosteum expands or with giant cell tumor the lesion can grow large and become unstable requiring cryosurgery.

Usually no: Osteochondroma, also called exostosis is the most common benign bone tumor. Slow growing, painful if impinges on nerve or stalk is broken; usually stops growing and ossifies at puberty.
Benign, but 1-2% of solitary tumors and 5-25% of multiple tumors undergo malignant transformation to chondrosarcoma. May be neoplastic, due to mutations in EXT1 and EXT2 polymerases. May visit an orthopedist.

: All x-rays can hit your genes and DNA and cause cancer.  Including those that come from our sun.  But risk is thought to be small but not zero. Could suggest it: Most would never rely on a single or multiple x-rays to make or treat such a diagnosis, There are recognisable features that can be quite specific for certain types of bone cancer. There are also some x-ray findings that would suggest an abnormal finding is not cancer.Once seen, the next step is to get a biopsy of the material for confirmation.
