Sounds "hopeful": Since is a NEW STRUCTURE!!!!! It is not related to the existing medications!  ANY SLEEP MEDICATION has problems of habituation and tachyphylaxis (larger doses required for same effects) after time.

Over 12 hours: the half life is  12 hours , meaning half of the medication is out of your system at 12 hours.  It should be mostly out of your system in 24 hours.

how long can or should you take belsomra for insomnia?

4 weeks: Belsomra is one of the newest medications for insomnia so I have little experience with it. It works in a novel way by blocking orexin, a hormone the brain produces to keep us alert and activated. It is currently approved for four weeks. It's advantage is that there's no dependency likely . The long term risk may be depression.

i am stopping 30 mg of temazepam and starting 10 mg of belsomra. can i just stop the temazepam and start the belsomra? thank you.

Warning: Depending on how long you have been using temazepam, you may experience either withdrawal symptoms or have a rebound insomnia when you stop this medication.   If you experience any of these issues, you might want to go down to 15 mg for few days before completely stopping.

Insomnia : You need to use another technique to help you fall asleep rather than medication. Yoga or other forms of relaxation may help. Good Luck

Zolpidem,"Belsomra"]: Belsomra hit the market less than a year ago.  I am wary of psychoactive drugs of a new class which have not been extensively studied.  I despise drug companies overpricing their meds like this one (&gt;$270 for 30 tabs), with coupons. The FDA will OK a new drug for study, but will rely on people reporting bad side effects not originally listed--sometimes so severe the drug will be withdrawn.

hello! i tried belsomra 20 mg. i could not sleep even with two tablets. why didn't belsomra help? diagnosis: chronic insomnia with anxiety disorder. i am taking escitalopram in the morning 10 mg. should i try rozerem before bedtime?

All are different: Everyone is a little different in what helps them.  Staying on a regular sleep schedule with a wind down routine can be quite helpful, and necessary for some people I suggest trying 4-500mg magnesium glucoonate citrate or threonate-are most absorbable, often melatonin can help if mg not enough or effective

No difference: They both  have advantages over insomnia therapies that carry a risk of dependency and abuse. Ask your doctor for your individual needs.
