OTC remedies: Try remedies like maalox / mylanta first and /or medicines like Zantac or prilosec. Avoid medicines like Aspirin and motrin, Naproxen which could irritate the stomach. Use tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain instead. Also talk to your boyfriend about trying to eat more in moderation next time. And most of all just be supportive and help him relax.

Belly aches: You dont specify if you are breast or bottle feeding, therefore i will assume you are breast feeding such babies can have a stool with each feeding, once a day or can go for a week without having one. They grunt when they are having a stool, again a normal phenomenon.

Abdominal pain: There are many causes of abdominal pain, some not even involving abdomen, such as pneumonia irritating diaphragm. Heartburn &amp; peptic ulcer disease, kidney stones, gallbladder stones, pancreatitis, appendicitis, diverticulitis, bladder infections, even labor etc can all cause abdominal pain. So can constipation &amp; diarrhea. If simple over-the-counter remedies don't help, best to see your doctor.
