Food intolerance: Given your history it does sound like there is a correlation of your symptoms to that vegetable class. If you have no other symptoms and you can reproduce these symptoms when eating peppers then I would avoid peppers. If not you should see your doctor.

Find the cause: Millions and millions of people enjoy spice without either stomach pain or diarrhea.  Do you have an ulcer?  Do you have reflux (where stomach acid abnormally comes up into the tube between your stomach and your throat, causing a burn)?  Do you eat the spice in a bowl of greasy, fat filled or fried food, instead of over roasted lean meats or vegetables?  Find the cause to make it better.

when you use peppermint oil to help with  nausea and diarrhea, stomach issues like that..... do you just rub the oil on stomach?

Peppermint oil: This is an older treatment for irritable bowel syndrome symptoms in particular abdominal discomfort. It is moderately effective but you usually have to ingest large amounts for it to be effective.

Yes: I once met a very nice person from India, who was amazed at how much of  vegetables and fruit we don't use in the USA that other countries do!  We peel too much, remove seeds that others eat, don't eat stems of thigks like broccoli.  She used every bit of the pepper including the white pitch and seeds.  So go ahead.  More fiber too!

can you get botulism from bad bell pepper stored in fridge? i had 4, 1 looked bad, but others ok. i tasted 1 and it tasted bad. should i be worried?

Botulism unlikely: Botulinum spores germinate best in low oxygen environments at 25-37 degrees Celsius (77-99 degrees F) Having said that, other bacteria may have contaminated the peppers and could cause GI illness. Best to avoid food that looks or tastes bad. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!
