SkipADay (see below): Before you go to bed, take a bath (or shower),get all clean and cozy,then put in the medication.Sleep like a baby, get up and go about your day (wear a pad), skip the gym that day.Before bed either skip your bath or take a shower. Next day is back to normal.The one-day form may irritate a bit(or a bunch)and if it gets bad, take that bath and get that stuff outta there, then ask your doc for a pill

: Leakage of some material is likely as the vagina cleans itself with continuous fluid production pumped to the outside.  If the effect you desired which is the combatting of the infection, then you should be fine.  Do not of course flush out your vagina during bathing unless you do it just prior to insertion of the monistat.

i had a yeast infection and used monistat 1 day to cure it. after 3 to 4 days its gone . i took a bath in dawn dish soap and the next day im itching

Accepted Answer

You should not: use dish soap for baths, only mild soaps with moisturizers like Dove or Aveeno.  This is especially true for the mucosal surfaces of your body, since they can get "allergic" or inflamed from drying agents like dish soap.  If you are concerned about infections in the nether regions, keep an extra healthy lifestyle and only use mild cleansers in order not to change your vaginal pH too much.

i used monistat 1 last night sometime between 10-11, & woke up this morning in more pain & more irritated & swollen. i want to take an apple cider vinegar bath to relieve some of this irritation, is it ok to bath that soon after using the medication?

See dermatologist.: Colloidal Oatmeal baths might be very helpful, but should be eval and txed by dermatologist. Suspect that rash is in groin or genitals and if so, it would be a good idea to visit your doc.

Self diagnosed?: Did you self diagnose your yeast infection?  It may not have been a yeast infection. Or you could be sensitive to some component in the cream. 

Or, if it was yeast, the skin can still be irritated even tho the yeast has been killed back. It can take a week or two for the symptoms to subside.

After treatment: If treatment is completed and symptoms have resolved, sexual relations may be resumed.

Oil in urine: Any oily substance taken intravaginally can result in oil in the urine.

i missed a dose of monistat 3 leaving me left with two suppositories. do i resume taking them at bedtime?

Accepted Answer

Yes: However, your yeast infection may or may not be completely treated necessitating purchasing another round of Monistat 3 or you could resume "itching to see a GYN MD" for an alternative more effective yeast Rx.

i started taking monistat 3 day last night. today my urine has bubbles in it. could the meds be causing this?

: Many times the urine flow will partially enter and exit the vagina on its way out unless you are holding the labia open. In that case it becomes a partial vaginal washout &amp; the Monistat may be included in the flow. I see no link to its use and creating bubbles from your bladder.

i used monistat 1 3 days ago and my symptoms improved, but i still have itchiness (much less intense) and some discharge. should i try taking another ?
