Pain pus &amp; temp: You will definitely know if there is pain, elevated temperature and/or pus extruding from the Bartholin gland. Usually infected glands make it extremely "difficult to walk: or sit".

: Masturbation is safe and will not hurt, unless you insert objects into your vagina. Orgasm through clitoral stimulation will not harm the surgical site. 
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

Warm compresses: Warm compresses are better than cold to help the cyst drain. Bartholin's gland cysts sometimes go away on their own but sometimes they have to be surgically drained and packed in order to heal up. Any abscess that does not drain fully may need to be surgically opened and drained to resolve. If it is not resolving with warm soaks and compresses see a doctor.

had a bartholin cyst drained about a 4 weeks ago, the dissolvable stitches are still in there. can i use a tampon without disrupting them?

Stiches: Absorbable stiches normally come out before 4 weeks.  Should be fine to use Tampon and the stiches could certainly be removed by this point I think if they bother you.

R/O BARTHOLIN CYST: It sounds like you may be describing inflammation of the BARTHOLIN gland just outside the vagina. This can result in cyst formation and abcess. You need a full exam /labs/STD SCREEN. You may require antibiotics and potential a surgical procedure please get prompt evaluation By internist or gyn.

: Yes the stitches can be white and look like Strang or fish line. If there’s associated fever chills pain or pus this requires an examination by a physician to check for infection
