could sinus balloon sinuplasty surgery hurt?

Usually not painful: In-office or in OR balloon sinuplasty is performed with minimal discomfort with appropriate pain medications and local anesthesia. Recovery time is shorter (1-3 days) with  balloon sinuplasty than traditional sinus surgery, and I personally do this procedure in-office with topical anesthesia, local lidocaine, and oral pain medications to minimize any potential pain.

Voice change: No. How did you have the procedure done? were you for some reason placed under general endotracheal anesthesia? was your voice very nasal before the procedure? did you have more nasal obstruction removed at the same time such as hypertrophied turbinates, septal deviation or polyps? balloon sinuplasty alone will not effect voice.

Sinus Surgery: Balloon sinuplasty - minimally invasive technique, uses a small balloon inflated to widen blocked passages, generally has less bleeding and shorter recovery time.

Endoscopic sinus surgery - uses a small camera to visually examined the sinuses. Tiny surgical instruments inserted to remove obstructive tissues, does not require any incision as the whole procedure is performed through the nostrils.

Balloon sinuplasty relies on sending a sinus balloon catheter through the natural openings of the sinuses and inflating to significant pressure. As a surgeon, you see and feel the bony openings fracture and expand. It is truly revolutionary.

First PDA: Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is a heart problem that affects some babies soon after birth. In PDA, abnormal blood flow occurs the aorta and the pulmonary artery. Before birth, these arteries are connected by a blood vessel called the ductus arterioles, a vital part of fetal blood circulation.After birth, the ductus arteriosus closes. Sometimes the ductus arteriosus remains open, allowing oxygen-rich blood from the aorta to mix with oxygen-poor blood from the pulmonary artery. This can strain the heart and increase blood pressure in the lung arteries.

why is the murmur of hocm louder on valsalva maneuver?

Anything : That decreases venous return leads to a reduction in volume to the heart. These changes will effect the intensity of murmurs. With the valsalva there ia a transient/ brief increase in output. The straining portion decreases venous return and will increase the intensity of the murmur.Heart rate will also increase. Standing abruptly will do the same.

Balloon dilation: If it is uncomplicated and there is no mass lesion in the sinus, this is a very effective procedure.
