The symptom of having something in your throat arises from the nerves detecting the swollen membranes. Run-of-the-Mill: Sounds like you have what i just got over. No biggie. You need more fluids and brush your teeth and tongue twice a day. You may develop other symptoms too, like a cough and headache but it should all blow over in a week or so. Over the counter cold and cough meds should help. If getting progressively worse, however, then you may want to see a doctor, especially if a high fever develops.

Dental care: See a dentist and get your bad teeth fixed.  Antibiotics alone will not fix your teeth  and they will get worse until you have dental care.  Exits are not as harmless as they seem.  You stopped smoking,  you should stop cigs also.  This will help you be healthier.
 See a dentist ASAP and get started with your treatment.  Your mouth will feel better.

Viral: This sounds like a viral syndrome. You started with upper respiratory symptoms including mucous drainage and systemic symptoms like fever. Now as you recover, you are experiencing achiness and fatigue. This is classic for a viral syndrome. Get plenty of fluids and plenty of rest. You should make a full recovery. If symptoms worsen or new symptoms appear, you will need to consult with your doctor.

Hydrate !!: To keep mucus moist & mobile ensure that you are drinking at least 8  8 ounces glasses of water per day.  Warm liquids can also help to loosen the mucus. A humidifier may help.  If you have drainage from your nose or sinus area - consider using a neti pot.
