Sinusitis: Yes, both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria live within the sinus and nasal cavities. If your sinuses become obstructed and don't drain properly, an infection can develop (acute sinusitis) that is often foul-smelling due to the presence of anaerobic bacteria. This can also cause halitosis due to the communication between the oral cavity and the nasopharynx.

speak with your PCP (Primary Care Provider) who may prescribe an antibiotic or may wish to see you. A cuture can be taken from the back of your throat (where sinuses "drip")

what are the removable, waxy "balls" that form in the back of my throat/sinuses (and smell really bad)?  why do i get them? how do i prevent them?

Normal: Those are small collections of food, bacteria nd other things that collect in the natural pockets of the tonsils and adenoids as part of your immune system and body doing it's thing. They are called "tonsil stones" and they do stink! best approach is good oral hygiene such as flossing, brushing your teeth (and tongue), staying hydrated and perhaps a mouth wash if you are really concerned.

Common: With viral infections in general, described with COVID as well. Taste is as well affected at least partially. Talk to your doc for an exam if symptoms worsen or lasting longer than usual.

if you get your sinuses surgically removed does that mean that you can no longer  smell anything?

Accepted Answer

No: They do not remove your sinuses.   Sinuses make your skull lighter and provide a means for drainage and other functions.  They may do surgery on your sinuses for chronic infections, or cysts or polyps in addition to other reasons.  With any surgery their are risks.  Olfactory damage could be altered but the risk is not high.

Sinus fungal infect?: You should get yourself checked by your doctor as you may have fungal infection
fungal sinusitis occurs when fungi organism like mold invade your sinus cavities.
These organisms are around in our surroundings we inhale them daily , but if immune system is suppressed they can cause infection in the sinuses.
Sometimes you can have mixed bacterial and fungus infection in sinuses.

Soot: If you got soot in your clothes, or all over your house that would explain it in part.  It is possible that there is soot lodged in your sinuses, but you would see it when you blew your nose.  Clean your house, do the laundry, and try a nasal wash with saline if the smell still doesn't go away.

: This would not be expected with oral yeast infection (thrush), and certainly never the only symptom. Many viral infections can do this, however. You need to be retested for COVID-19. Good luck.

i put 4 drop of gse +240ml water+incl salt bag

Netipot: Try using sterile water as the tap water you are shooting up the nose may have bacteria. Also make sure you are cleaning the device properly.  Also depending on how much force is used with insertion , you can be causing undue swelling.
