I just want your: Opinion. Do you want a  bad future of drugs and alcohol?  If not, would stay away from them entirely and introduce yourself to 12 step programs like alcoholics anonymous and narcotics anonymous.

Clarify?: It is bad to have lung cancer. Recreational drugs / alcohol are probably not going to make it worse. If your cancer is incurable and this is what you want to do with your remaining time, that is your business. For many, the last months are for closure, reconciliation, and fulfilling things you've dreamed of. This isn't the place to talk about marijuana for cancer patients.

They distract from : It.  The words teenager, alcohol & drugs shouldn't even be in the same sentence. Teen- anon incorporates 12 step philosophy from alcoholics anonymous & narcotics anonymous. Any teen who is drinking alcoholic needs assistance.

Both: Peer pressures r a factor but personality character self discipline genetics stress all play a role.

Can be hard: Probably the best way is to commit to, and keep working on, your program.  If you're in a 12 step program, excellent.  You can get a sponsor and work your steps. People who abuse drugs & alcohol often hurt people close to them, and those people can be self-protective.  It can be hard for you to be patient, but they probably need time to observe what you do.  As the saying goes, "easy does it.".

Absolutely.: Chocolate, fat, video games - anything that gives instant pleasure is likely to have a corresponding addiction. Yes, that, too.

Teenage drug alcohol: Both chemicals addiction prevent you from studying as your priorities are to satisfy your addiction demand and school becomes extremely secondary. Both chem destroy your future. You have a mental diagnosis to treat early. Your parents give you the gene for drug addiction, they need be treated too, along with all siblings.

Yes: A person is tested for the following by the flight surgeon: marijuana, cocaine, pcp, methamphamine, ecstasy, morphine, Codeine and heroin.

1 reason for change.: Homework assignment?   Will discuss 1 reason.  When a person develops more & more of a singular focus, it excludes other things from their life. They may not have time for family or friends. They may miss work or church, family outings etc., because they are either using, trying to get the subtance to abuse or recovering from substance use. This means that other people & things loss importance.

YEP Genetics: It is well proven genetically that some people have a higher tolerance to drugs and their effects than others do.  Thios is why the practice of medicine is as much art as it is science.
