Muscular,disc proble: If you are having constant pain in the back you should have it checked by your doctor as it may be disc problem.Muscular pain, arthritis or some other condition.

Yes and no: There should be virtually minimal pain. However if the pain persists and if there's any redness or swelling should go back to the doctor who did the tap.

Back pain: The back pain can be caused by spinal stenosis, ruptured disc, nerve impingement ...  
The treatment depends on the cause of the pain. It might include physical therapy, medication, injections, surgery ...  
If medication is not effective for your pain, talk to your doctor, you might benefit from therapy and/or injection.

i had my baby 9 months ago and still have back pain. i've never had back pain until the epidural .. i don't understand?

Pregnancy related: My guess would be that you have mechanical back pain from the strain of carrying a baby and the labor process. The normal curve a the lumbar spine is greatly exagerated the bigger you baby grows in you. Your center of gravity, gait, sleep position has all been different during this time. I am an osteopathic physician and treat many women pre and post delivery to rebalance their spine and pelvis.

UNUSUAL: Lumbar punctures are almost invariably safe, but on occasion, minor complications occur.  The area of interest is surrounded by numerous veins, and a blood vessel can be punctured leaving a small focal hematoma or bruise.  This may loculate and become a seroma over time.  Typically, this resorbs leaving no eventual problem.  It is unlikely that a local infection is present.  Talk to dr who did lp.

Myofascial pain: hi,

The list of causes of low back pain are quite lengthy. Most common cause is myofascial pain, i.e. muscle related. Check your bed, stretch before exercise
Treatment includes NSAIDs, muscle relxanats and PT

Back pain: If you haven't received a definitive diagnosis of your recurrent back problems you should consult a clinic or group of specialists that specialize in spinal disorders. Bring a pertinent records or copies of ct scans or mri's with you which may save some time and trouble.

woke up with severe upper right back pain. very sharp. had a cluster of petechiae appear the other day that is still there a little. is this related?

Call doc or go to ER: Severe pain is always worrying. Call your doc or go to the ER now!  They will check and see if they are related and find out what's going on.  Unusual things are happening to you (petechiae and bad pain) Why wait to get even worse? Do let us know what they find out.  Petechiae are not all that common.

Sure: Listen to your body.  If it hurts you need to slow down.  Trying to stay active is a great plan.
