Doctor can examine: If not constipation (collection of stool in the left lower abdomen) that goes away with a bowel movement, then one's primary care doctor can check to see what the problem might be, to see if there is a mass in the abdomen or pelvis, or a kidney problem. In a middle-aged adult, even if pain goes away with a bowel movement, the doctor may want to examine him to make sure there's not something bad.

It may be bursitis: You may have inflammation of your trochanteric bursa, a fluid filled sac that reduces friction at the outside of your hip. Try ice and antiflammatory medicine and consult a doctor.

Back Pain: Bilateral back pain could be connected to a genito  urinary  problem, especially if the pain is in the flanks. If lower down, musculoskeletal skeletal issues or even bowel problems could be the culprit. I would definitely follow up with your doctor if the pains don't subside.

Back pain: Sounds like it could be a kidney infection.  You should see a doctor right away for a urine test.  Don't wait several days to be seen since these can become severe if left untreated too long.

ive been having really bad lower back pain for the past 3 days ,and then slept on a heating pad all night last night now i have this sharp pain on the right side of my back like from the middle of my rib cage, down to my waist. back is swollen also?

: Are you sure you do not have a first degree burn from the heat pad? Asking somebody to look at your back to see if there is skin redness (erythema). If yes, you have first degree burn due to the heat pad. If the back skin is normal, only the area is swollen and tender, you should be evaluated by a doctor. Otherwise, low back pain is very common, taking tylenor or advil as needed for a couple days.

You should: see a doctor because you might have kidney disease.  Electrolyte disturbance can explain calf pain and polyuria could be first sign of renal failure.
