i have upper right back pain, lower back pain, and some uti symptoms, but two urinalysis came back normal. dark urine sinks to bottom. whats wrong? peeing a lot at night, which isnt normal for me.

Workup required: Further work up is likely required at this point. Sediment in the urine is never normal and may be a sign of a more serious condition that should be identified as soon as possible. Please seek in-person care, the work up of urine sediment is complex and requires close follow up.

Consider different: Consider going to different clinic or getting a second opinion.  If doctor evaluated you using urinalysis, solely, then it's possible he/she missed the diagnosis.  If he/she performed a urine culture and it returned negative, then diagnosis is true and pain may be due to something else. Cultures take a few days, if that helps. Signs uti: increased frequency and pain with urination. Good luck!

i have just had a ct scan and it showed my right kidney was enlarged i get slot of lower back pain and always have uti infections any idea of treatmen?

Difference in kidney: size is normal, recurrent UTI is not. More common in females than males. But this is obviously why you had the CT? The combination of back &amp; UTI is why it was done. Especially if your UTI are recurrent. Listen to the advice of your urologist,  &amp; follow it as he/she dictates.

There are other: causes of symptoms that feel like a UTI.  Overactive Bladder, Interstitial Cystitis, Endometriosis, and Sexually transmitted infections like Chlamydia can result in similar symptoms.

Consult with your PCP, gyn or urogynecologist if your symptoms are not going away.

Requires exam: and testing. You will need a urine analysis, culture, fasting blood sugar and HgbA1c.

It is not uncommon: to have a lower sided back pain with the urinary tract infection.

Drink plenty of fluids and dont hold urine for longer periods of time.

Cranberry tabs: Best option is to call your clinician.  Many offices have protocol to treat UTIs over the phone in young healthy established patients with classic symptoms. Otherwise, can try cranberry tabs (mixed evidence), pyridium (phenazopyridine) of burning/urgency, and plenty of water.  See you dr asap if symptoms persist or worsen.

could there be an underlying problem i have with my uti? i've been to urgent care twice with symptoms of a uti. but i continued to have back pain.

Not related: The UTI and back pain are probably not related. You do not get back pain from a bladder infection which is what most UTIs are. You only get back pain when the infection moves to the kidneys and that is a much more serious diagnosis, pyelonephritis. Your back pain is probably musculoskeletal. See a physical therapist or try yoga for relief.

Yes possible: Urinary tract infections in men can cause kidney issues. And this may be the cause of the back pain. The bacteria can travel from the urethra to the kidneys if not addressed and treated. So see doctor

Yes: A UTI also known as a bladder infection can spread up the ureters to the kidneys which rest inside your ribcage.
