It COULD be: However, it is possible that you might have broken a rib with coughing.  It is also possible that something is in your lung to have caused your pneumonia, and it now is causing the rib pain.  It is VERY IMPORTANT to have a follow up chest x-ray to be sure that everything is clear, even if you feel much better.  Good luck to you.

Pneumonia n backpain: Coughing bouts during pneumonia can lead to disc damage in the lower back. If the pain increases while sitting down, leaning forward and improves with leaning back or standing up, it is most likely from the lumbar disc. An MRI can properly evaluate the soft tissues in the spine. If the pain travels dow the leg, it could be a pinched nerve from a herniated disc. Specific treatments can relieve this.

It seems like you have already been told it was pneumonia.

No: People with pneumonia are invariably ill with fever, chiils, cough, muscle pains and malaise. There are many types of pneumonia-viral, fungal, bacterial, aspiration and those caused by tumors. Most likely you would have symptoms beside just back pain if you had pneumonia.

Ibuprofen helps: Local application of heat in any area that hurts along with scheduled ibuprofen can help in most cases. This is a transient process and should heal over time.

Possible, but: Not a good plan to diagnose with minimal information.  Back and movement of arms hurt from inflamed fascia which stretches little nerve endings.  So does breathing if the fascia is inflamed.  Although pneumonia "could " cause this, You failed to mention exposure, fever, cough,  sputum and shortness of breath.  Suspect it is traumatic and will resolve with ibuprophen Every 4-6 hrs.

Get checked.: Pneumonia is a chest infection.  Other serious problems can cause chest pain and wheezing with trouble breathing, including a blood clot in your lungs.  Get seen TODAY and get treated.  If you are having a lot of trouble breathing or your pain is severe, get checked NOW, and call for an ambulance, if you cannot get a ride to a nearby emergency department.
