: It may happen sometimes and there is no explanation for this feeling. Our body is a miracle of nature, weird symptom occurs randomly at times, mostly benign.

This sounds: like "false" temperature "signals" to your leg from nerve fibers irritated in your back (specifically L4-5) 
Although its unusual for JUST the Temperature fibers to be iritated it is the only condition which occurs to me!

Impaired blood flow?: It could be impaired circulation to the mentioned areas from hardening of the arteries due to aging. Please see your family doctor who can check you and may order some sort of mild blood thinner.

Nerve symptom: This sensation could be due to irritability or mild inflammation of superficial nerve endings in that region. Apparently there is no pain, tingling or pins and needles sensations which are also seen with nerve ending irritability or neuropathy. If symptoms persist consult a neurologist who may also check for deficiencies of vitamin b12, calcium, magnesium, potassium or for diabetes.

No: It is interesting that people with back pain seem to feel temperature changes more commonly than others. There is nothing dangerous going on.

No such thing: There's no such thing as a cold in the back. A cold is a respiratory infection.

Warm back: Glomera, this could be due to adequate covering by good clothing or sitting well placed in a chair. If you are  a low back pain sufferer it could be due to low grade, chronic inflammation of the back muscles. However, if unaccompanied by urinary symptoms, no fever and no severe pain, I would not be concerned. thanks

Probably fine: It is unclear if you mean that you have a warm sensation or if you notice heat when you feel your back.  Assuming the latter, it is normal to notice that your core, or trunk, is the warmest part of your body even if you are in a cold place.  Your vital organs are inside the abdomen and chest, so your body keeps you warmest there. Some clothes that don't breathe well such as polyester cause warmth

Seek medical care: Is this acute? if so and you feel generally unwell it could be an infection and you should see a doctor
