my daughter is 6 months old and she keeps spitting up her formula after she drinks it, mostly 1-2 hours after. it comes up like spit up but smells like vomit?

She may be having: something called gastroesophageal reflux,which occurs when the valve between the stomach and the esophagus is a little floppy and allows some formula to come back up.Most babies outgrow this eventually and if she is thriving would not need treatment.If the formula is new to her, it could be a formula intolerance.You should discuss this further with her own pediatrician and have her examined there.

Possibly gall bladde: Problems with your gall bladder can lead to gas, feeling full right away, nausea, and turn your urine dark.  However, they don't usually cause an odd smell unless you are having problems with the liver as well.... A bladder infection can also lead to the same symptoms.  Get seen soon, and they will likely check your urine and blood after talking to you and examining you.

my son is 3.5 months old. for  2.5 months, he's been spitting up clear hot liquid that smells horrible! he gets very fussy before throwing up. help?

Check w dentist: If you have post nasal drip during the night mucous can collect on the back of your tongue and bacteria grow in the mucus during the night giving the bad taste and breath.  Sometimes the taste and physical accumulation of mucus can cause a gag reflex,  a dentist can give you some treatment options and a referral to an ENT to help with possible sinus issues, .

my baby's spit up milk smells bad, could it have been spoiled?

Spoiled milk: Once you mix powder formula it is good for about 2 hours at room temperature and 4 hours in the fridge. When the baby's milk mixes with the stomach enzymes and acid and then comes back up it may appear curdled or have a sour smell. This is normal. Sometimes it helps to keep the baby propped up for about 30 minutes after feeds so he/she will not spit up as much.

GERD: She might have gerd.  There is a prescriptional medicine that may help, ask your pediatrician.

Baby vomiting: At one month of age your baby may have pyloric stenosis the blood you see may be due to his wrenching. The brwn residue maybe old blood.  In any case this is an emergency situation and your baby should be seen and evaluated as soon as possible x-rays are definitely in order to rule out any othercausesof obstruction.

Reflux: Most likely in an otherwise normal infant  he just has normal reflux or being over fed. Less commonly and usually with reflux an hour or so after eating it could indicate food allergy.

my baby is 11 weeks old, acid reflux, similac spit up for 5 weeks now. she has been vomiting curdled milk for 2 weeks now. help!

It's normal: As soon as milk hits the acid in the stomach it curdles and smells terrible, but if your baby is happy, growing and has soft poops she doesn't need any medicine or a change in formula.  It is only when babies are in pain from spitting up that we give antacid medicine and unfortunately it does not stop them from spitting up.  Sitting her up for a half hour after she eats and burping well does help.
