Confusing question: There is no Rubella IGM Virus that I know of.There is a common screening test for IGM antibody created after a rubella infection. If you have high IGM levels indicating a recent rubella infection, it is worrisome.Rubella during pregnancy can lead to injury to the eyes, ears and other organs.Babies can be born deaf, blind and with other defects.

she has been using meth on and off her whole pregnancy ! she wants to know if she stops now if it will show in the babies system when delivered ?

If I look: If she stops, it is healthier for her &amp; the baby may actually survive the pregnancy. If mom draws attention to herself by being a known user, having drugie friends visit  or for other reasons the Child &amp; Family Services people have her on their radar she will have trouble. I can find evidence of any drug exposure in baby back to about 20 wks.If she gets clean &amp; stays clean they may not  look.

Hard to be sure: The antibodies built during pregnancy are pushed into baby at a level higher per pound than mom retains. That said, all such antibodies begin to age out and become less effective with time. By 3-6 mo there is little if any left. Since there are always a few more flu strains circulating than the ones they can put in the vaccine, it is important to avoid exposure as the primary form of prevention

Tight control: Hi. How high is "very high"??? It sounds like you have gestational diabetes (GDM). If you have what we call very high, you need insulin. Are you lean or obese? Most GDMs are type 2's (and usu. obese). Rarely, type 1's get diagnosed during gestation (slender). You will be placed into High Risk OB (HROB) for the remainder of the preg. You will need tight blood sugar control for your benefit &amp; baby.

Pahs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons)can be very dangerous to your health, increasing risk of asthma and cancer if prolonged exposure exisits from indoor pollutants like home heating fuels, tobacco smoke, cooking blackened foods, and burning candles and incense.

Active kicking: If the degree of activity has been markedly decreased for a week, it is best to see your obstetric provider and obtain an ultrasound to make sure there is no problem. Most likely, if is your first pregnancy, and with less room in the uterus, the activity is at this stage not as noticeable. Later when the baby is stronger, activity will be certainly progressive !

No fetal effects: Sandra, there is no evidence that it hurts your baby. There is also no evidence it works during pregnancy either. Some have advocated it's use in pregnancy to keep blood pressure normal, or to help labor. None of these claims are proven. There are no well conducted studies on it in pregnancy but reported use has NOT found any adverse issues. Take your prenatal, stay hydrated, and eat healthy.

Usually not: Localized infections like a cold usually have no effect on a pregnancy. Only the germs that can enter your blood have any chance or reaching/effecting baby. A  cold involves localized tissues in the nose &amp; upper airway.
