A member asked:

Primrose oil 200 mg i was taking it from 15 till 26 weeks of pregnancy. i did not know that was not recommended. how it can affect a baby?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No fetal effects: Sandra, there is no evidence that it hurts your baby. There is also no evidence it works during pregnancy either. Some have advocated it's use in pregnancy to keep blood pressure normal, or to help labor. None of these claims are proven. There are no well conducted studies on it in pregnancy but reported use has NOT found any adverse issues. Take your prenatal, stay hydrated, and eat healthy.
