i just had my first ultrasound my crl is measuring 7 weeks 6 days but the gs is measuring 5 weeks 6 days. the babies heart beat was 138bpm. everything ive read is that if the gs is more then 5 mm smaller pregnancy may not be viable mine is 9mm out?

: By NIH website: the rate of fetal death was 80.0% when the gestational sac diameter-crown-rump length difference was less than 5 mm, 26.5% when the difference was 5-7.9 mm (P less than .002 compared with less than 5 mm), and 10.6% when the difference was 8 mm or more (P less than .0001 compared with less than 5 mm). Your fetus should be fine, take care and good luck with your pregnancy.

my gestational sac is measuring 2 weeks behind babies crl at 16mm. the crl is perfect at 15mm and heart beat was 138 at 7w6d. there is only a 1mm difference between the 2 should i be worried?

babies can measure too big or too small, does that cause your lmp date to be off? or make it seem as if you're further along than you thought?

LMP date could cause: You may have recalled your last period date (lmp)incorrectly and then your due date may not be accurately calculated.  You may have gestational diabetes and that can cause a fetus to grow larger more rapidly than it should.  You may have decreased blood flow from the placenta to the fetus ( like from smoking) and this can decrease the rate of growth of the fetus.

Yes: Ultrasound machines are invaluable in managing pregnancy today, especially high-risk pregnancies.  Not only do we measure the baby's size (head, abdomen, thigh bone), but we can evaluate all of the internal organs, from brain to bladder.  We also can make sure the house is in order -- evaluating the placenta and the amniotic fluid quality, even measuring the cervical length.

Serial: measurements, every two weeks, can be compared to expected size increase over the two weeks.  Best time to confirm due date is a first trimester ultrasound, when the range is plus or minus a few days.

Doubt it: I suppose there are some birth defects like primordial dwarfism that may have such an pattern but not a normal infant. IUGR babies are small but develop arms/legs  at the same time. The 6 wk fetus has flipper like arms/legs that are distinctive while those past 8 wks have recognizable digits &amp; 12 wks are well formed.

Mostly congenital: Hypothyroidism in the newborn may be caused by:missing or poorly developed thyroid gland(sometimes absent or in wrong place or ectopic)pituitary gland not stimulating  thyroid gland or thyroid hormones incorrectly formed and not working correctly.Usually detected at birth with blood testing. If infant receives thyroid hormone supplements, baby develops normally neurologically and physically.

infant presenting with high white count 24.8 and hemoglobin of 6.8?

This child is ill: You need a ton more information to figure out what is going on with this infant -from how old to the results of very many physical findings and history to may more lab tests. All one can say is this baby is seriously ill and if not in the hospital needs extremely close follow-up until the causes of the severe anemia and high white count are found.
