The use of steroid creams or ointments may help, but should be monitored by a physician. An allergist can assist in identifying the specific food trigger.

Angioedema!: Some people with stress release histamine in the skin.  When scratching occurs, red welts occur.  Try combining an over the counter drug like Claritin and zantac (ranitidine) (2x 75mg). I bet you get relief!
