at two minute mark my azo uti strip showed "trace" color for leu. a few minutes later was darker. which is correct? the test says its ready in two.

Urinary test WBCs: You probably have some trace leukocytes there but what you observe is the test strip "keeps reacting" after the 2 min mark, so it looks "more positive" than it is. Best to follow the test instructions exactly. White blood cells (WBCs) could indicate a urinary tract infection so you should probably see a doctor about it.

Urine Cotaine Test: Cotaine will be present in blood tests for about 2 weeks and in urine for several weeks more.  A lot depends on what level is chosen as the cutoff for positive or negative.  Good for you on quitting.  Keep it up. I do not know if Azo changes the test results.

i keep testng pos for wbcs on azo test strips even after two days of cipro (ciprofloxacin). (neg for nitrites). no pain &no urine odor. could this be smthng serious?

Doubt UTI. STD?: Without pain, urgency, or frequency, and with negative nitrites and non-response to ciprofloxacin, probably not a urinary tract infection. Maybe WBC test (leukocyte esterase) isn't working right. Or not clean urine (vaginal WBC?). Yeast? Depending on your risk for STD, it could be gonorrhea, chlamydia, trichomonas, yeast. Or something else entirely. Best to stop cipro and contact your doctor.

Yes, but:: No interaction with cigarettes but it's never safe to smoke. Not everyone who smokes develops cancer or COPD but if YOU happen to have a genetic tendency for the above conditions it's more likely to affect you.Knowing you family history is ok does not completely rule out having genes that put you at risk If you would like to quit I recommend

Don't think so: What was your test positive for?  Azo is both a commonly used name for a medication used to reduce pain of urinary tract infection, and which also can turn urine orange and stain things, and the name of a company that makes several products. Methadone programs are required to do confirmatory tests for positive screens, and you should ask for that, if you haven't used other drugs.

i have taken azo but my pee isnt changing colors. it used to turn orange but the last two times (different incidents) i have taken it.. my pee has been normal. should i be worried?

: No. It will depend on how much water you drink the dose of AZO and the brand (there are several). No worries.

You will need an exam and some labs to get an accurate DX.

Yes: AZO test strips will confirm that you have white blood cells (pus) in your urine. That usually indicates a urinary tract infection

Check with your doctor to determine what antibiotic to take.
