Ummm...: Smoking while you have a lung infection sounds pretty un-loving to yourself. There will not be any bad drug interactions between the two, but please take better care of yourself, you're worth it.

See below: Most cases of bronchitis are caused by respiratory viruses that do not respond to antibiotics.  Bacterial bronchitis is usually caused by strep. Pneumoniae, hemophilus sp. And moraxella sp.  These are usually treated with zithromax, ceftin, (cefuroxime) vantin, Augmentin or levoquin.

Probably OK but: escitalopram together with azithromycin can increase risk of irregular heart rhythm although a relatively rare side effect. If you have a heart condition called congenital long QT syndrome or other cardiac diseases you may be more susceptible. You stopped low dose lexapro so probably not a problem. Consult prescriber if problems occur. Best regards.

...gut bacteria...: If you just finished Antibiotics ( any kind) most likely your diarrhea is a common side effects of disturbed bacteria flora in gut ( all bacteria " bad and good" is " killed" by antibiotics)  - sometimes more aggressive bacteria overgrow as Clostridium difficile  - get tested. In the meantime keep hydrated, take Probiotics - Yogurt, kefir daily and add on supplement as VSL#3/ Visbiome .

If this is treatment of exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, azithromycin, if it is going to be effective should begin to have efficacy within 24 hours.

Symptoms lasting longer should be reported to your physician as their is a chance of secondary bacterial infection or pneumonia.

Anytime: If you're taking antibiotics for bronchitis (not usually recommended as most colds &amp; upper respiratory infections are caused by viruses that don't respond to antibiotics), then only reason to avoid/postpone sex is that you don't feel strong enough (aren't up for it - get it? sorry, couldn't resist!). Clearly if you're coughing up lots of phlegm, etc, you might not want to pass germs onto partner.
