Don't know: Without having your medical records and the means by which diagnoses were established there is no way to comment on this. Suggest that you discuss this with the doctor seeing you and if still dissatisfied get a second opinion. Might help to have a hepatologist see you (liver specialist) since if you have not been treated, HepC can now be cured with newer drugs.

mum had type1 diabetes. dad has latent autoimmune diabetes adults. my fasting blood glucose is high. a1c blood test is ok. i have no family history of type 2. slim. active. healthy diet. i have hashimotos. could this be autoimmune not type 2?

: It's difficult to differentiate LADA and type 2 diabetes mellitus in early phase unless you go through further testing. However, the time you need Insulin for controlling hyperglycemia comes much earlier in LADA (6 months to a year) compared with type 2 diabetes mellitus which can be treated successfully with diet, exercise and oral medications.

Autoimmunity.: The body makes certain proteins that help the body fights infections and other illnesses, called Antibodies.  These auto antibodies provides immunity to the body against infections. Autoimmune disorders  occur when these autoantibodies attack cells and organs in the body destroying them. When it attacks the liver, its Autoimmune Hepatitis.. Some environmental triggers and genetics play a role.

Non-specific test r: esults!  ANA is a test for anti-nuclear antibodies and can be read as positive in a number of auto-immune diseases.  You  don't even know whether you have a problem with your pancreas yet and if so what is causing it.  You should sit down with a good internist, maybe a good gastroenterologist,maybe a good rheumatologist and figure out what is going on.

Ehlers Danlos: I have patients with Ehlers Danlos syndrome with relatives with the same syndrome. So there is definitely a link and you need a specialist to help you. Higher chance of it: A person with autoimmune disease has a higher chance of getting another autoimmune disorder, such as thyroiditis, type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, grave's disease, vitiligo, etc... However, having an increased risk of getting a disorder doesn't mean the person will surely get it. He might be only a little unlucky and have just one disease.

No: Hypermobility is due to elasticity in the tissue. It is a change in the soft tissues, sometimes called a true collagen disease but it is not a connective tissue disease and is not autoimmune. It can be genetic.
