Cover up: Wear long-sleeved shirts, hats and long pants to reduce exposure to sunlight and harmful uv rays.

No help here: The sun tan lotions simply give you a tan like appearance but will not protect your skin from the sun damage which leads to skin cancer. The only protectors are sun screens which contain chemicals which block the sun rays. The best way to protect from skin cancer is to stay out of sun, but if you have to go out in the sun for any reasons , use a good sunscreen and apply it every 2 hours.

my 2.5 year old son has got a tiny small rash only on his back near his neck, no fever, no other symptoms. he started the symptoms on monday after sunday when he played outside without a shirt and we have put alot of suntan lotion on. what can it be?

Dermatitis: most localized small rashes are caused by dermatitis- an allergic skin reaction. He may have reacted to the sun, to grass or other environmental allergens. Most will go away on their own in a few days. Wash normally, and watch, if the area grows or does not go away, consult your childs Dr.

Which kind?: As long as it does not irritate your penis, it should be ok.  The anti-itch formula may irritate the tip of the penis however if applied accidentally. But why?

Rashes: Rashes are generally impossible to diagnose over the computer. Since you have tried so many things without relief, it's time to see the dr. to get it examined and properly diagnosed so the best treatment can hopefully occur.  Good luck.

Nope!: Sunscreen application over any other oil or lotion will still block UV rays to some degree.  Tanning = sun damage unless you are using a self tanning product designed to darken the skin without sun exposure.

Patience: Creams which bleach the skin are not advised. Instead, to lighten skin, use sunscreens regularly on all exposed skin.

That depends on: Things like time of day, intensity of sun, skin protection.

Can't stop nature: If one's skin got fried by the sun, new skin cells will form to replace the sunburned skin all at one time (because greater skin damage was done all at one time). If one's skin was not fried but just gradually tanned, new skin cells will replace the tanned skin at the normal rate that skin cells replace themselves. Otherwise, if one were to keep old skin, she would look 100 years-old very rapidly.
