A member asked:

How can i prevent a suntan from peeling? i like how it looks and don't want it to go away. what measures can i take besides for moisturizing?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Can't stop nature: If one's skin got fried by the sun, new skin cells will form to replace the sunburned skin all at one time (because greater skin damage was done all at one time). If one's skin was not fried but just gradually tanned, new skin cells will replace the tanned skin at the normal rate that skin cells replace themselves. Otherwise, if one were to keep old skin, she would look 100 years-old very rapidly.
