i'm taking amox-clav 500 antibiotics to treat a uti& azos my question is will this effect me taking blood work for std will i get accurate results the health department said wait 3 weeks but quest dyicnistics where i did the test at said it won't?

: Depends on if STDs are resistant to the antibiotic u r on in your area. Wil nt affect hiv it syhilis or monkey pox testing

why would my yellowish vaginal discharge stop while on augmentin and then begin again 2 weeks after finished 10 day course? could this be serious or does it sound like an infection? def. not any std! please, any advice appreciated?

: You need a good  GYN exam to find cause and once found will be OK with treatment. Pl observe safe sex at all times and get HPV vaccine

my clitoris is sore for about 10 days. not sexualy active and do not have any std's! what could cause this! do i need antibiotics, i can only take augmentin, would that help? not red and no fever, just uncomfortable! help please?

: Sometime things like smegma or another irritant can cause this. Clean area with mild soap and water and try OTC cortisone for a few days. If not better pl see a Gyn. good luck

freq urination 2wks after unprotected sex. lasted a couple of days. std test negative 3wks after sex. throat infection 2wks later. took augmentin. now 3mths later achy testicles. could the first std test be a false negative? or is it just anxiety?

: Probably you have no infection from the sexual exposure. No STD causes frequent urination. STDs rarely cause sore throat either. The STD tests are very accurate. Whenever someone suspects their own symptoms have a psychological origin like anxiety, usually they are right.

: I wouldn't hang my hat on the positive influenza A test and I believe that the staph is only colonization &amp; not true infection. I feel you have a viral infection. Also get checked for infectious mononucleosis.  Augmentin has no value in any of these scenarios. Gonorrhea &amp; chlamydia can be diagnosed by a throat culture. If not improving consult an ENT specialist. Appropriate testing will be done.

: Depends on how long you took the antibiotics and the type ov std.

Yes: Stds are all treatable...For now.  However, we're now at the point where there's only one antibiotic left that still treats gonorrhea, with nothing else on the horizon.  So don't throw away your condoms!

Yes: Most cases of acute infection with HPV will spontaneously clear.

: Treatable STD causing bacteria do not live on coffee cups. Please check cdc.gov to clarify. In case having any symptoms see your doc before trying to self diagnose or treat.

No: The preferred drugs are Azithromycin or doxycycline.
