Some women with pcos have little or no symptoms - we look at symptoms, blood tests and an ultrasound of the ovaries to make the diagnosis. Not all women with pcos have fertility issues.

Ask your GYN physician about testing for PCOS and ask about low dose oral bcp's (the usual treatment for PCOS) unless pregnancy is desired.

Can't get rid of: For women with pcos who are overweight, some weight loss will help with the complaints and symptoms. But this does not make it go away. Half of women with pcos are not overweight, and this is not an option for them. See a good obg or a rei for further help.

Yes: Some women who have pcos due to obesity can see marked improvement in their symptoms and in pregnancy rates when they exercise vigorously and maintain a healthy bmi (19-25). Yes!: To be very technical you can be diagnosed with pcos without having any symptoms, but signs. Most experts (not all) agree that pcos is diagnosed based on 1) irregular/skipped periods, 2) ultrasound appearance, 3) elevated blood androgen levels. The reason it's called a syndrome is because not all patients have excatly the same symptoms.
