Not MR: Mitral regurgitation causes enlargement of the left atrium but does not cause chest pain.  (ever). Chest pain has many causes including: artery blockage, pneumonia, pleurisy, arthritis, muscle soreness, acid reflux, gall stones, stomach ulcers - to name a few.   You need a work up.

VERY MILD valve leak: Trace means 'very mild' and mitral valve regurgitation  means 'leak'. It  happens when your mitral valve doesn't close tightly, which allows blood to flow backward in your heart. When the 'leak' is moderate-severe you may develop symptoms of tiredness & fatigue. The worst thing: 'heart failure' requiring heart surgery and valve replacement (but you are no where near that stage) so, no worries here.

Variable: Mild regurgitation = normal life expectancy
severe regurgitation, sudden onset = death in hours, days, weeks or months depending on other factors and with no treatment.  Severe  chronic regurgitation=good prognosis with treatment; without treatment = chronic congestive heart failure and eventual death. Hard to be more specific without more facts.

NO: Trivial mitral regurgitation has trivial effects on one's health, though it may be wise to take an antibiotic prior to dental procedures to minimize the small chance of endocarditis. Absolutely no exercise restrictions are necessary.

No: Regurgitation is when the valves dont close properly and blood back flows
stenosis is when the opening is narrowed making the outflow reduced.
