Not very long: Unless there is nerve damage from the injection or associated procedure, numbness should last only for the expected duration of local anesthetic, which usually is 8 hours or less.

NO!!..........but...: It's really about you!  although certain groups have more issues with drug abuse and addiction, it ultimately comes down to who you are......Do you have a job that you enjoy?....Are your friends and family plagued with drug problems?.....Have you been mentally, physically, and spiritually healthy?  If you are at a party and are offered drugs, what will you do?  Do you know how to just  say "no"?

They will try: They will try. But don’t count on that. Develop emergency and evacuation plans for your own family and business just in case. Also develop an emergency communication plan in case family members are separated.

Pima indians in the se us have a close to 50% incidence. Their blood relatives living in mexico about 3%.

Both: This is not an either/or dilemma. Both local community health and global health are vitally important to improve. It would be wrong to ignore one at the expense of the other. Fortunately there are groups working to improve both.
